Several hospitals in Delhi as well as other states are seeking emergency supplies of Oxygen during the second wave of COVID-19 in India. At the same time, Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Assam has already installed 8 Oxygen plants having a capacity of 5.25 MT /day. Another 5 plants are in the process.
So, the total number of oxygen plants in Assam is 13 where 8 plants are functioning as of now and 5 in process. He also criticized Delhi Govt, for not utilizing Central govt funds to establish Oxygen plants in Delhi.
Further, Himanta Biswa Sarma also stated that Assam has received a fresh batch of 2 lakh more doses of Vaccine from Central Govt, and now Assam has a stock of 406,610 vaccines.
